He served as a teletype mechanic in the 303rd Signal Operation Battalion, U. S. Army, during World War II in the European, African and Middle East theatres. He was self employed in the pulp and lumber business, and married the former Dorothy Kenney on March 15, 1942. Lawrence loved to read, play cards, and tell stories and jokes.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Lawrence, Jr. and wife June of Hebron, and Edwin of Corinna; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Lawrence was predeceased by a daughter Diane Morrison; 3 brothers, Norman, Howard and Arvid; and a sister Leona Brown.
