She was born on September 17th 1904 in Graphite, N.Y., she was the daughter of Almon and Edith (Graham) Ackerman.
She began her career as a Teacher in a one-room schoolhouse in Hague, N.Y. and continued in the Hague Central School system until her retirement.
She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, historian for the Town of Hague, N.Y., and a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Hague, N.Y.
She was predeceased by her husband; James Fitzgerald on April 25th 1979.
Arrangements by the Wilcox and Regan Funeral Home on 33 Algonkin Street in Ticonderoga, N.Y.
Burial will follow in the family plot at the May Memorial Cemetery in Hague, N.Y.
