Johnnie was the son of Seymour & Martha Ann Collins Amburgey. He was shot in the head by his brother brother Lenon Curtis "Curt" Amburgey on July 30, 1933. Death certificate indicates homicide. Lenon Curtis Amburgey lived later part of his life using the surname Burns.
