Jonas and wife Jane Muse Hall, immigrated from England to America in 1858 arriving on the ship "City of Washington". They brought three children born in England; Sarah Ann, William and 2 month old Jonas (jr). They lived in Virgina for a period of time where John and Ann were born. They moved on to the Fall Brook, Blossburg, Wellsboro area of Pennsylvania where Mary, Jane(Jennie) and James were born.

-- The remains of John Hall, who died at a sanitarium in Cresson, Pa., were taken to Blossburg Tuesday to the home of his sister, Mrs. George Carlyle, where the funeral was held Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Mr. Hurst, of Arnot, officiated: interment in Arbon Cemetery. Mr. Hall was 67 years old. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ray Brooks (Lulu), of Corning; one son, John (Jack) Hall, of FallenTimber, Pa.: three sisters, Mrs. George Carlyle, Miss Mary Hall, of Elmira; Mrs. George Bartz, of Bozeman, Montana and two brothers, James and William Hall, of Arnot.
