Lloyd Brown "Luke" Sydnor, Jr. passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA. Luke was born Thursday, August 11, 1938 in Washington, DC to the late Lloyd Brown Sydnor, Sr. and Edna McDonald Sydnor. He retired from the Washington, DC Department of Transportation as a Deputy Administrator, was a member of Round Hill Baptist Church in King George, VA, the Anacostia Masonic Lodge, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Colonial Beach and a huge automobile enthusiast and a member of the Colonial Beach Car Cruisers.
Luke is survived by his daughter, Robin and her husband Jason Worrell, son, Lloyd Brown Sydnor III, grandchildren, Chase and Luke Worrell, sister, Edna Edmondson and Betty Wilson, his former wife and mother of Robin and Lloyd, Carole Sydnor, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2018 at Round Hill Baptist Church, 16519 Round Hill Rd, King George, VA 22485 with Rev. Dr. Jim Vaught and Rev. Dr. Johnny Almond officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be private at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, MD.
