Elizabeth E. (Smith) Nosek Shields, 97, of 125 Connors St., Gardner, died suddenly June 05, 2009 in Heywood Hospital.

Elizabeth was born in Portland, ME, March 4, 1912, daughter of the late Albert and Jerusha (Underwood) Smith.

Prior to her retirement, Elizabeth worked in the former Gardner State Hospital, Ray Plastics, and for George B. Bent.

She also worked as a waitress for the old Hollywood Restaurant in Gardner.

Elizabeth enjoyed traveling, she loved to go to Moosehead Lake, ME, Atlantic City, and Foxwoods. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Elizabeth was the oldest living member of the Templeton Fish and Game Club, in Templeton.Elizabeth will be sadly missed by 3 daughters; Marlene Manca and her husband Tony of Templeton, Charlotte Smart of Gardner, and Sandra Nosek of Turners Falls, MA, one son; Adolph Nosek of Burlington, VT, 23 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth was predeceased by one son; William Nosek, one daughter; Kay Cosentino; three Grandchildren; Jamie Smart, David Cosentino, and Kirk Bourbeau.

You are invited to attend her funeral service in the Lamoureux-Fletcher Community Funeral Home Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner, on Wednesday June 10, 2009 at 10AM.

Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Glenallen St. Winchendon.

Calling Hours in the funeral home will be Tuesday June 9, 2009 from 6-8PM.
