Matthew was was born in Joshua Tree June 3, 2004, to Anthony Derman and Elaina Kabler-Derman of Twentynine Palms.
In addition to his parents, Derman is survived by his grandparents Elaina and Robert Roberson of Twentynine Palms, Catherine and Gary Derman of Joshua Tree and Genie McCoy of Yucca Valley and by his great-grandmother Catherine Jeter of Twentynine Palms.
