She was born on March 2, 1962 the daughter of Dennis J. Banks and Jeanette (Statley) Banks.
Janice was enrolled in the Leech Lake Tribe of Ojibwe and was raised into the AIM Community. She enjoyed spending time with a few close people. Janice danced traditional in her early years and had her own way of dancing through life.
She is survived by her children Waagosh Banks, Waboose Banks, Antaysha Banks and Nicole Roberts; ten grandchildren; brothers Tatanka Banks, Chanupa Banks, Redelk Banks and Minoh Banks; sisters Glenda Roberts, Darla Banks, Deanna Banks, Beverly Baribeau, Denise Banks, Pearl Blanchard, Tashina Banks, Tiopa Banks, Tokala Banks and Arrow Woman Banks; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; brother Roland Blanchard; and an infant daughter.
Traditional Native American Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 6 at Noon at Battle Point Community Center in Federal Dam, MN. Interment at Battle Point Cemetery.
All-Night wake will be held Thursday, July 5th beginning at 7 PM at Battle Point Community Center.
Honorary casket bearers will be Travis Sayers, Adrian Sayers, Safe Traditions Staff and Hospice Care Staff.
