PETTY, CLARENCE L., SR., 74, died Friday, May 4, 2007. He was owner and operator of Clarence Petty Construction Company, a member of the Underwood Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgia L. Riley-Petty; two children, Jeffery Blackgrave and Faith Petty; three brothers and four sisters. Survivors include his wife, Dolores (Dotson) Petty; two sons,Clarence L., Jr. (Patti) and Eric Petty (Naomi); four daughters, Shirley K. Jones (Norman), Kelly D. Wampler (Jim), Cindy Richey (Chris) and Heather R. Howell (James); sister, Wilma Brock; brother, Floyd D. Petty (Joyce); 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral service: 11 a.m. on Monday at Underwood Baptist Church with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Henryville, IN. Visitation: 4- 8 p.m. Sunday at Collins Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Monday at his church. Memorial Contributions: Vista Care Hospice c/o Collins Funeral Home.

Clarence L. Petty, Sr., age 74, of Scottsburg, Indiana died Friday, May 4, 2007 in Deputy, Indiana. He was born January 6, 1933 in Underwood, Indiana, the son of the late Earl Petty and Forrest Sylvia (Roth) Petty. Clarence was married to Georgia L. (Riley) Petty, who preceded him in death. Clarence was married May 24, 1969 to Dolores (Dotson) Petty, who survives. Clarence was the owner and operator of the Clarence Petty Construction Company. He was a member of the Underwood Baptist Church. He served during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy and was a former member of the Scott County V.F.W. Post # 6582. Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons: Clarence L. (Patti) Petty, Jr. of Jeffersonville, Indiana & Eric (Naomi) Petty of Henryville, Indiana; four daughters: Shirley K. (Norman) Jones of Pittsburgh, PA, Kelly D. (Jim) Wampler & Cindy (Chris) Richey both of Scottsburg, Indiana and Heather R. (James) Howell of Deputy, Indiana; a sister: Wilma Brock of Scottsburg, Indiana and a brother: Floyd D. (Joyce) Petty of Scottsburg, Indiana. Clarence is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two children: Jeffery Blackgrave and Faith Petty; three brothers: Robert, Earl and Carl Petty; four sisters: Emma Rose, Margaret Applegate, Katherine Lyttle and Lorna Edwards.
