Mrs. Ruth LeMahieu, 84, of rural Cedar Grove, Town of Holland, died at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, Monday, December 9, 1996, as a result of an automobile accident Monday morning at the intersection of A and GW, near Oostburg.
She was born July 10, 1912 in the Town of Lima, a daughter of the late George and Alvina Schwalbe Hoffmann. She attended the Banner School and graduated from Waldo High School in 1929.
On April 26, 1930, she was married to Edgar H. LeMahieu in Sheboygan Falls. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1982.
The couple lived in the Town of Lima for several years and farmed in the Town of Holland, from 1939 until the time of their retirement.
Mrs. LeMahieu was a member of Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Adell. She had been actively involved in the Adell Senior Center, where she loved to play cards.
Survivors include one daughter and her husband, Donna and Richard Krebs; one granddaughter, and one grandson, all of Berlin, Wis.; one sister-in-law, Ruth Hoffmann of Oostburg. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Irma Wightman and Edith Beisser and three brothers, Charles Allmann, Elmer Hoffmann and Herbert Hoffmann.
Funeral services were held on Friday, December 13, 1996 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Adell. Rev. Robert Lindau, pastor, officiated. Burial took place in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
