Floyd Oscar Bardo (November 28, 1924 - October 20, 2018)

Floyd Oscar Bardo, 93, of 29 Spruce Lane, Sinnemahoning, PA, died at his residence, on Saturday morning (October 20, 2018).
Floyd was born on Friday, November 28, 1924 in Jersey Shore, PA, a son of the late Oscar and Alpha Green Bardo.
On Wednesday, July 5, 1944 in Lock Haven, PA, Floyd Bardo married the late Rosemary Caton.
Floyd was a staff sergeant with the U.S. Army during World War II. He served overseas in the Mediterranean theater of operations for 10 1/2 months seeing duty in Italy. He was stationed with the Headquarters Company 349th infantry Regimen. He was a squad leader with anti-tank gun crew.
Floyd retired, after many years of employment, from Sylvania, where he was a tool and die maker. He was a member of Sinnemahoning United Methodist Church.
He is survived by daughter, Judy Weaver, Stuart, FL; daughter, Connie (Adam) Waltz, Westport, PA; daughter, Regina (Gary) Baney, Mill Hall, PA; son, Francis (Georgette) Bardo, Driftwood, PA; daughter, Diana (Jim) Ball, Sinnemahoning, PA; longtime companion, Pauline Housler, Emporium, PA; sister-in-law Laura Bardo, Hurst, TX; ten grandchildren; and he was a patriarch of many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to his parents Oscar Larue Bardo and Alpha Myrtle Green Bardo, and wife Rosemary Caton Bardo, he was preceded in death by two brothers -- Frank Leroy (Roy) Bardo and Allen Larue (Al) Bardo; and two sisters -- Nancy Belle Bardo Kelchner and Helen Louise Bardo Dickson.
The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. 4th Street, Emporium, PA, on Friday (October 26, 2018) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., followed by the memorial service at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Kenneth Bailey, officiating. A Military Service will be accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail following the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sinnemahoning United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 98, Sinnemahoning, PA 15861, or to the Driftwood Senior Center, P.O. Box 99, Driftwood, PA 15832.
