He graduated from Hermon-DeKalb Central School in 1962 and served in the United States Army for 3 years, including a tour in Germany.
He married his beloved "Lin", Linda L. Allen on December 29, 1964 at Edwards United Methodist Church parsonage.
Archie served a mason apprenticeship and worked as a self-employed mason for over 40 years. He and his family also operated a dairy farm, and he had a love for all animals. He enjoyed playing the guitar in his younger years, collecting antique furniture, Humel figurines, and coins. Archie also enjoyed watching his programs on RFD TV, listening to country music, attending social events with his wife, visiting, especially on the telephone, with family and friends. He enjoyed spending time and taking rides with his best dog Possum and all the dogs that came before. Archie never knew a stranger, he was generous with his skills and helped anyone in need. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor, his reminiscing stories, and the love he had for his family and friends.
He was survived by his wife; his children, Michael (Adena), Paul (Cheri), Amanda (Jim) Abrantes, and Nichole (Jay) Morse; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his siblings, James (Karen), David (Doreen Love), Gwendolyn (Phil) Law, Marlene Gary Jefferson, and Ann Goodale.
