Robert Carlton Bailey, 48, of Savannah, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

He was born in Monroe, North Carolina, and was a veteran, having served in the US Navy, where he received the Navy Unit Commendation Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with a Bronze Star, and a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. He was discharged from the USS Saipan at Norfolk, Virginia.

He was an Insurance Agent, with Aflac Insurance for 20 years.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Charles Ernest Bailey (Jean Marie Randall Bailey), his birth mother, Nancy Louise Harrell Bailey, and his other mother, Joan Q. Bailey; sister, Michelle Bailey Dyer (Patrick), of Bluffton, S.C., and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Charles Bailey, and his mother, Joan Q. Bailey, that raised him.

Visitation: 10 – 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel.

Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with Rev. John Haney, officiating.

Interment will follow in Bonaventure Cemetery.
