Since November of 1990, Claude was a proud member of I.A.T.S.E. Local #42, working as a stagehand and stage director. In that role, he made lasting friendships with crew members and colleagues in the music and theater industry. Previous employment included working at St. Joseph Center for Mental Health, Howard Street Tavern, Godfather’s Pizza, Cape Truck Toppers, and Community Alliance.
In his spare time, Claude enjoyed gardening, sitting by a campfire, camping, attending concerts, traveling, spending time at the Smith cabin in Minnesota, laughing with friends, and watching NCAA and Creighton basketball and Ohio State sports. He played in basketball leagues and was on rugby teams in Omaha as a young adult.
He is survived by Nancy Jones, fiancée; cousins Warrick Barrett and Rosalyn Barrett-Dewitt and their families; Nancy’s father, sisters, brother-in-law, nephews and families, cousins and families, and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, suggested memorials to: ELCA Lutheran Disaster Response (Flooding); Omaha’s String Sprouts; The Dayton (Ohio) Foundation - The Professor E. Champ and Alma Warrick Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Celebration of Claude’s Life was held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 2:00pm, with family receiving friends after 12:30pm, all at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, 1031 Sunset Trail, Omaha, NE.
