He was posthumously awarded the US Air Force Achievement Medal, which was accepted by his brother on his behalf. He had also tested and earned the rank of Staff Sergeant and received a posthumous promotion from the leadership of Hurlburt Field, FL, where he was assigned.

At Western High School, he became a distinguished member of the JROTC program, holding the rank of Cadet 1st Lieutenant (C/1LT). While still a high school senior, he enlisted in the Air Force and began basic military training in Lackland, TX, in November 2014 and graduated in January 2015. He then attended technical training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, through May 2015. Just prior to his passing, he served at the Air Force Special Operations Command as a member of the 1st Special Operations Civil Engineer Squadron and the Hurlburt Field Honor Guard.

He was a member of the American Legion and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

He was survived by his mother; his father; his brother; his two grandmothers; a grandfather; an aunt; and cousins and many other extended family members.

Interment on December 19, 2019.
