Janice Irene “Jan” Brenner, age 74, of Riverdale passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was born July 8, 1944 in Alma the daughter of Jasper and Ina (Youngs) Fockler. She was a 1962 graduate of Alma High School and married Gary Lee Brenner on July 20, 1963 in Riverdale.
Jan sold Avon cosmetics for over 45 years. She was a member of the Red Hatters and Gleaners. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and cooking. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Jan is survived by her husband of 55 years, Gary Brenner of Riverdale; a son, Randy (Nicole) Brenner of Elwell; a daughter, Laurie (Fiancé Chris Zielinski) Wing; seven grandchildren, Jonathon (Ashley), Joshua, Shauna, Lynzee (Will), Breyanna, Mykenzie, Netta; three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Luna, Damien; and a brother, Clif (Marlene) Fockler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; and her father and mother-in-law, Andrew and Harriet Brenner.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 1 pm at Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home, Alma with Pastor Henry Hawver of the Vestaburg Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11 am until the time of services at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions in Jan’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
