Marilyn was born in London, England to Leo and Marie Cahill. She passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer.

After meeting the love of her live, Eugene H. Ohanian, she moved to the States to begin building a family in Fresno, California.

While raising two adoring children, Kirk and David Ohanian, she embarked on a parallel journey to return to school. She began by completing her high school equivalency. This ignited a desire to attend California State University, Fresno, where she graduated with top honors. She continued her education by obtaining a Masters Degree and Ph.D. both in Psychology.

She went on to enjoy a diverse and successful career as a Clinical Psychologist working in the California State Parole system as well as in private practice, retiring in 2004.

As passionate as she was for her work, she was equally passionate about travel, food, friends and family. She enjoyed years of traveling with her loving husband of 47 years, Gene, walking the countryside and exploring exotic cities. Her spare time was spent delving into mystery novels and her expansive collection of cookbooks. She was at her happiest when her passions coalesced with a wonderful meal in a beautiful location surrounded by family.

Marilyn will be mourned by her loving husband, Eugene Ohanian; sons, Kirk and his wife Phuong, David and his wife Kim Ohanian; grandchildren, Alysse and Aidan Ohanian; sisters, Shannon Dell, Geraldine Rhine, and Susan Cahill; and many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends that will miss her dearly.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel of the Light, on Thursday, July 30, 2009, at 11:00 a.m.

Remembrances may be made to PanCan (pancreatic cancer action network); or U.C. Merced Foundation.
