Challenging and very rewarding. To help someone complete their education is a passion of mine for years now. I learn just as much from them as they do from me.

My brother Michael (Mike) Abbene passed away tragically Saturday August 17th at Watkins Glen State Park.
Michael was a caring person, he worked in a soup kitchen in North Carolina for years. He rescued animals, was a funny man, and loyal to his friends. He did have his struggles, he was an alcoholic and this disease colored his life, and ultimately has led to his death. He made a very bad decision when under the influence. It is very tragic, he was only 48.
This GoFundMe campaign will help me bury him with dignity. I have never asked for help before, so this is very uncomfortable. Our parents are in their 70's. My mother recently moved to a nursing home and has applied for
Medicaid. She has no resources to help with funeral costs. My father can provide some funding, and I am recently divorced and have been applying the resources I have to help my mother.
I want nothing more than to bury him with dignity. He needs a modest funeral and a headstone. Please help if you can. My father and I are responsible for final expenses.
