He grew up in Wisconsin on the family dairy farm and later attended the University of Wisconsin where he earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering. After graduation he relocated to California to work for the Department of Navy and where he met Marge, the love of his life who soon became his wife.
After raising their young family and graduating with an MBA from Monterey Naval Post Graduate School, the family relocated to Virginia where he served out his long career as an Engineer and Program Manager for our U.S Defense.
Rod was predeceased by his parents, Frank Beran and Ethel Emma Augusta Beran; a brother, Frank L. Beran; sisters, June Schneveis and Donna Mae Belanger.
After a long battle with cancer, he continued his journey to the perfect embrace of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Rod led a full and faithful life survived by his loving wife of almost 55 years, ”Marge” Margurette Beran; a son, Mark Beran and his wife Mary of Broad Run, VA; a daughter, Gale Michael and her husband, Eric of Springfield, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Timothy Beran of Broad Run, VA, Christina Beran of Queens, NY and Daniel Beran of Raleigh, NC, Marie Michael of Springfield, VA, Katie Michael, Springfield, VA, Elizabeth Michael, Springfield, VA, Gabriel Michael, Springfield, VA and Joseph Michael of Springfield, VA.
A burial will follow at Bright View Cemetery.
