Phyllis was born in Ada, Oklahoma on March 25, 1937, the daughter of Bonnie Lee (Kerr) and Howard Evans Jared. She grew up and received her education in Allen, Ok, graduating from high school there in 1955. She went to East Central University for one semester then left to marry her childhood sweetheart, Garner. She was married to Garner Franklin Jarrett on January 3, 1956, at Allen, Oklahoma. Phyllis and Garner had many adventures in their early days of marriage living in Flagstaff Arizona, Corpus Christi Texas, Allen Oklahoma, Ulm Germany, finally settling in Dewey Oklahoma where they raised their family. Phyllis began working for the Bartlesville Postal Service in 1969 until her retirement in 1999. In 2001, Phyllis and her brothers, Ron and Roger, established Jared's Frozen Custard where she worked until the age of 80. Phyllis had a such a great love for the kids and customers that came to the store. She had a heart for young people and worked tirelessly as a mentor to them. Phyllis embraced people so easily into her family and was the "mother and grandmother" to so many, loving them unconditionally as her own. Phyllis was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy where she lovingly worked with children and youth ministries, women's ministries and served as Sunday school teacher for many years. She started playing the piano at church at the age of nine and continued to do so or over 70 years. Phyllis had a deep love for the Lord and did not hesitate to share Jesus with those around her. Her life was a living testimony of her faith in God.

Survivors include her son, Stacey Alan Jarrett and his wife, Julie, of Dewey, two daughters, Lisa Gayle Doupe of Bartlesville, and Monica Elaine Anderson of Birmingham England, one brother, Roger Jared, sisters-in-law Sharon Lewis, Kay Jared, Pat Briley, Mary Ann Vickers, Lucinda Lancaster, brother-in-law, Gordon Barrett, grandchildren, Cameron Jarrett and his wife Danielle, Austin Jarrett, Spencer Doupe and his wife Devin, Alicia Gibson and her husband Nathan, Jessica Jarrett, Melissa Anderson, Alex Anderson and his wife Liz, Phillipa Maize and her husband Matt, great grandchildren Henry, Fredrick, Charles, Joseph, Cooper, Stella, Jarrett, Elijah, Kaylahni, Delaney, Israel, Mila, Harper and a multitude of beloved nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Garner, son Greg, sons-in-law George and Fabian, brothers Ron and DT and her parents Howard and Bonnie. The family would like to express our sincere thanks to Compassus Hospice and to the wonderful caregivers that have worked so diligently and lovingly to help the family keep Phyllis at home. Phyllis was a very wonderful person, and her life and legacy will live on in her family and the people whose lives she touched. Phyllis will forever be loved and will be deeply missed but she is free and whole and that is a priceless gift.
