Angela Ruth Douthit of Miami, OK passed from this life Monday, December 9, 2019 at Freeman Health System in Joplin, MO. She was 50.
Angela was born March 12, 1969 in Miami, OK to Jack and Jayne (Dareing) Trask. She had lived in Miami all her life and graduated from Miami High School Class of 1987. She then attended NEO A&M College in Miami and Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS where she received her Master’s Degree in Education as a Reading Specialist. She taught at Miami Public Schools for the past 16 ½ years and the last 2 years at the Miami High School. She was a National Board of Certified Teacher. She was a member of the Northwest Baptist Church in Miami, OK.
Angela was preceded in death by a son Michael Williams Douthit, maternal grandmother Rex Ann Dareing, paternal grandparents Zelmer and Iona Trask, uncles Danny Dareing and Claude Trask and aunt Loreta Potts.
Angela married Bradley Douthit in 1987 and he survives of the home. Additional survivors include 1 son Zeke Douthit and wife Jordan of Miami, OK, 3 daughters Whitney Osborn and husband Tim of Commerce, OK, Kaylee Taylor and husband Corbett of Miami, OK and Mackenzie McKee and husband Josh of Miami, OK, adopted daughter Christine Lovell of Miami, OK, her parents Jack and Jayne Trask of Miami, OK, 1 sister Mandi Smith and husband Jon of Joplin, MO, her maternal grandfather Jay Dareing, 10 grandchildren Gannon McKee, Melody Taylor, Jaxie McKee, Harmony Taylor, Jayvn Osborn, Broncs McKee, Serenade Taylor, Zayleigh Douthit, Judah Osborn and Lyra Taylor.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Miami High School MAC in Miami, OK. Rev. Sam Wilson will officiate. Interment will be in Williams’ Timberhill Cemetery, west of Miami, OK. Bobby Vansandt, Chastin Leggett, Kevin Cox, Mike Morgan, Nick Highsmith, Scott Dickerson will serve as pallbearers. Dale Heatherly, Billy Mericle, Gary Fields, Bob Haskins, Richard Dixon, Kolton Lucas will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Northwest Baptist Church in Miami, OK. Services have been placed in the care of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
