Ernestine Abke, Caro, died Wednesday, March 3, 1982 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was 79. She was born Ernestine Barnes on October 27, 1902 in Caro and was a lifelong Tuscola County resident. She married Ellis Abke on Oct. 14, 1931 in Caro but he preceded her in death in May of 1967. She worked as a country school teacher until her retirement. She was a member of Caro United Methodist Church and the Rebecca Lodge.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Don (Janice) Majask of Reese. One step-brother preceded her in death.
Funeral services were Saturday at Collon funeral Home of Caro with Rev. Clive Dickens officiating. Burial was in the Caro Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
