Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, February 28, 2020 at Dengel & Son Mortuary.
Family will meet with friends from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the mortuary.
Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona.
Dolores was born June 1, 1928 in Smith County, Kansas, the daughter of Charley Thomas and Isa Mabel (Kirkendall) Goracke.
She lived in Smith County, Kansas; Franklin, Nebraska; Topeka, Kansas; moving in 1960 to Pomona, Kansas.
She graduated from Franklin High School, Franklin, Nebraska, with the class of 1947.
Dolores was united in marriage to Alfred R. Booton August 29, 1948 at Smith Center. They shared 71 years of love and countless memories.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas Booton and wife Cathy of Pomona and Bruce Booton and wife Kim also of Pomona; four grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; parents, Charley and Isa Goracke; two brothers, Jim Goracke and Bud Goracke; and sister, Connie Love.
Dolores taught school for 3 years at Smith County. In 1974, she worked for J.C. Penney and Gibson’s both in Ottawa. In 1981, Dolores was a department manager for Walmart in the fabric/sewing department, retiring in 1994.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and attended Bible studies for years. Dolores was also a Cub Scout Den Mother in Pomona.
Dolores enjoyed cooking, crafts and sewing. She especially enjoyed reading and studying her Bible. She always loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
