Kathryn Bledsoe Acker, 91, of 3223 Highway 29 S., died Friday,
March 21, 2003 at her home.
Born in Gaffney, she was a daughter of the late John Albert and
Mabel Claire Simmons Bledsoe.
She retired as a real estate secretary for Rochester Real Estate Co.
in Walhalla and Caldwell Banker-Durham Meehan Agency in Seneca.
She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Walhalla
where she was a former Sunday school teacher and treasurer.
She attended North Anderson Baptist Church, was a former assistant
Sunday school teacher and a member of the D.M.A. She was a member
of the American Legion of Walhalla, secretary of the S. C. Tuberculosis
Association of Oconee County and was a Pink Lady Volunteer with
Oconee Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Acker, of the home; a son,
Charles L. Acker of Tamassee, S. C.; two daughters, Kathryn A. Carver,
of the home and Mabel A. Templeton of Greenwood; two sisters, Annie
Mae Livingston of Greensboro, N. C. and Sara Lou Hendrix of Conestee,
S.C.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at The McDougald Funeral Home conducted
by the Rev. Bill Rigsby.
Burial is in Old Silverbrook Cemetery.
Visitation is 3-5 p.m. today at The McDougald Funeral Home.
The family is at the home.
