My great grandfather was a sea captain. He was married three times. His first wife, Daisy Huntington) died shortly after their wedding. Joseph then re-married to Mary Kyle Fuquay. They had three children: Mildred Elizabeth Freeby (born in 1906 - 1987), Mary Louise Freeby (born in 1910 - 1986) and Henry Caldwell Freeby (born in 1910 - 1936). Following the death of his second wife and the mother of his children, Joseph married Nancy Elizabeth Hampton. Theirs was a family of yours and mine, but they never had children together. Joseph died in a traffic accident when he collided with a truck while riding home on the 2nd of August 1925 in Huntington Park, South Gate, Los Angeles County, California. He is buried next to his wife, Mary Kyle Fuquay Freeby.
