RONALD "RONNIE" MICHAEL FELTZ, III Age 27, March 10, 2020. Beloved son of Ronald Michael Feltz, Jr. & Lisa (Nichols) Feltz. Loving brother, best friend, personal protector & Dynamic Duo of Brandon (Kaitlin Naber) Feltz. Loving brother to Britney (Erik) Azzopardi. Loving uncle to Vinny, Melania & Giovanni Azzopardi. Dearest grandson of John (Joan Israel) Nichols, Judith (Robert) Eubanks, the late Juliana "Julie" Nichols and the late Ronald Michael Feltz, Sr. (Susan) Feltz. Beloved boyfriend of Zaklina Marinkovski. Loving nephew, cousin and close friend to many. Loving Pet-Parent to his fur-babies, Zeus & Gia.

Since birth, Ronnie's eye brows were perfectly shaped with a natural arch. Strangers regularly asked if his eyebrows were drawn on with an eye pencil. As Ronnie grew older, the family of his close friend lovingly named him "Browz" for his perfect eye brows. The nickname stuck and his eyebrows became his "trademark".

Ronnie was highly intelligent. He could perform mental math by the time he was 4 years old. He absorbed information like a sponge, although he wasn't passionate about school as he became bored very easily because he wasn't being mentally challenged. He loved to learn through his own style of education and research and could debate anyone, any time about any subject matter with accuracy, extensive knowledge and a great deal of persuasion.

Ronnie followed in his father's footsteps as he also had a passion for the medical field. He excelled at EMS in high school and won a state-wide competition in Traverse City in 2010. Following high school, he attended the Fire Academy, however, three weeks before he completed the program and scheduled to graduate, his cousin/close friend, David Guerrero (#190716467) died. Ronnie felt something was wrong when his cousin didn't reply to his text messages or phone calls so he drove to his house. When David failed to answered the door, Ronnie called the police dept. The police arrived and still no answer so they utilized forcible entry to perform a well-visit check. That is when they found David. Tragically, he had taken his own life and the police asked Ronnie to identify his body, which he did and it eventually lead to PTSD. His grief was overwhelming and emotionally crippling to the point that he was unable to complete the Fire Academy and reconcile the loss of his cousin.

Almost a year and a half later and although we're learning to live with the loss of our son, our grief still overwhelms us often. Our memories are bittersweet. As much as we cherish every memory of Ronnie, our mending hearts still move us to tears.

The most important memory I want to share of our son is his car accident in 2012. Hindsight is always 20/20. On March 10, 2012, Ronnie was in a serious car accident. It is exactly 8 years ago to the day when God called him Home on March 10, 2020. At the time, we were thankful and blessed our son walked away with only a scratch on his wrist from a broken watch. Looking back now, we believe there is something more to it that we can't yet fully comprehend.
After enjoying a Saturday evening with friends in Canada, Ronnie fell asleep at the wheel and crashed his car on his way home around 4:30 a.m. Falling in and out of consciousness, he had the mindset to call his girlfriend to let her know he had been in an accident, however, he had no idea where he was. He couldn't recall the route he was driving, which street he was driving on, crossroads or even what city he was in at the time of the accident. His girlfriend called 911 and informed the dispatcher, who triangulated his cell phone signal in an attempt to pinpoint his location.
While waiting on hold for the dispatcher, his girlfriend called me. I was already awake from an uneasy feeling that something was wrong so when she called - I immediately answered. She explained Ronnie was in a car accident and was on hold with the 911 dispatcher, but no one knew his location. She explained he was in and out of consciousness but had his phone nearby and he'd continue their conversation when he woke up. The dispatcher told Ronnie to listen for the sirens and let them know when he started hearing them and if the sirens were getting closer or further away. He could hear them loud and clear and they were getting closer but just as fast as he started hearing them, the sirens started to become more distant. The Dispatcher instructed them to turn around and head back in the direction from which they came. Upon turning back, the fire dept noticed guardrail damage on the side of the road as they got closer. It appeared to have been caused by a car and gave way to the property leading to the heavy brush far beyond the road. They stopped and investigated the area and found Ronnie's car off the road camouflaged by the heavy brush so much that his car wasn't visible from the road in the dark.
As it ended up, Ronnie's accident was close to home - only 3 miles or 4 minutes away. The Fire Dept had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate him from the car but he walked away unscathed. The fire dept said based on the damage to his car, the guardrail and heavy brush, Ronnie was lucky to be alive let along walk away from it.
Shortly after his accident, Ronnie told us he remembered seeing 3 bright lights coming directly toward him through his driver's side window. He knew they weren't headlights because they were too elevated to be cars. He also remembered having a dream. In his dream, he said Angels came to him and gave him a choice to live or die. When Ronnie said he wanted to live, the Angel said "if you choose to live, your life will be hard." Ronnie told the Angel he still chose to live.
As Ronnie grew older, he fought many struggles in his short life and it was a very hard road for him these past 8 years but he usually tried to focus on the silver lining when the gray sky clouded his vision. His faith became more and more challenged, causing him to "keep questioning what is true", like the lyrics in the song "Fall on Me" by Andrea Bocelli and Matteo Bocelli. About a year ago, as hard as he searched and tried to find a reason to keep believing, Ronnie lost his faith and made the choice to no longer believe. We knew he was lost and not only looking for a reason to restore his faith, but also to find a reason to believe in himself again. He couldn't see the laughter, love and inspiration he brought to everyone around him.
On 3/31/20, exactly 3 weeks to the day Ronnie passed, his brother, Brandon had a dream. In his dream, Ronnie was talking to me (his mother) on the phone. Although Brandon couldn't see Ronnie, he could hear his voice through the phone to know it was definitely Ronnie talking. Brandon heard Ronnie telling me he was ok. He wished he still had his life but he talked to "The Man" up there and is waiting. I believe this is Ronnie's way to tell us he was wrong; God and Heaven do exist and his journey to everlasting life has begun.
In hindsight, we realize now we were given a gift of 8 more years to Live, Love and Laugh with Ronnie until God called him Home for eternity. We love you Ronnie and will miss you every day until we can be with you again in Heaven.
