Mary A. Coleman born November 7, 1940, in Moundville, Alabama passed away peacefully on, Monday, April 2, 2018. Mary was preceded in death by her father, Willie Coleman and mother, Lucy Dobbins-Coleman and brothers Emmett and Sylvester Coleman.

After moving with her family to Ypsilanti, Michigan, she attended and graduated from the Ypsilanti Public Schools. She later attended Cleary College. Mary retired as a medical records analyst from the University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor on September 13, 1997.

In 1958, Mary married Reginald Wilbur Herndon and moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan. On January 1, 1973, she dedicated her life and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Mary valued her relationship with Jehovah. She enjoyed talking to and teaching people about Jehovah and his promise to transform this earth back into his original purpose of a paradise. She genuinely loved people and joined the ranks of a full time minister, pioneering for 15 years. As a pioneer she traveled the globe working unassigned territory and attending assemblies in many countries where she met and worshipped with fellow servants. She touched the lives of many and all who loved her.

She is survived by her seven children: Margo Rogers, Michelle Herndon, MaryAnn Gillette, and Jeffrey Herndon, all of Tallahassee, Florida; Marilyn (Robert) Michalowski, David (Shirley) Herndon, Mark (Christina) Herndon all of Ann Arbor, Michigan; one brother: Richard (LaVaughn) Coleman of Round Rock, Texas; one sister: Lillie Joy of Centerline, Michigan; two sisters-in-law: Nancy Coleman of Washington State and Elizabeth Coleman of Houston, Texas; twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home - 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee from 6-8pm. Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 1pm (CST) at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 3440 Old U.S. Road Marianna, FL
