John James Hall, age 77, of Corning, NY died Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.

He was born December 26, 1943 in Corning. He is the son of John R. and Mary Louise Hall. He graduated from Corning Free Academy, Class of 1963, and went on to join the United States Navy, where he served from 1963 to 1967. He served on the USS Currituck, serving three tours in the Vietnam War. Upon his return to civilian life, he worked at Westinghouse until 1972, then worked at Corning Incorporated as a bricklayer until his retirement in 2006.

John married the love of his life, Patrice (Donegan) Hall in 1969 at St. Mary's Church. They celebrated 51 years of marriage last June. John's wife, children, grandchildren, and many friends were the center of his life. He attended every sporting event possible of his children and grandchildren. Another joy of his life was the time spent at Keuka Lake with his wonderful friends and neighbors. John also enjoyed his time hunting and fishing all his life and grabbing a beer at the local pubs. He never lost a friend he made or the opportunity to tell a story or joke to make someone smile.

He is survived by his wife, Patrice Hall; daughter, Laura (Stuart) Plank of Kensington, MD; son, John (Leah) Hall of Camillus, NY; five grandchildren: Jack Plank, Casey Plank, Charlotte Hall, Caroline Hall, and Alex Hall; sister, Maureen (Jim) McCoy of Spring Brook Township, PA; many nieces, nephews and cousins; sister-in-law, Yvonne Donegan of Corning; and brother-in-law, Dan (Bonnie) Donegan of Hammondsport, NY.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Hall, and sister, Diane Wilsoncroft.
