Duane R. Aadsen,74, of Bath, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, 5th July. Duane was born to Raymond D. and Dagny Aadsen (nee Faugstad), in Keister, Minnesota, the eldest of five siblings. Duane went on to earn his PhD in Physics from the University of Illinois and began a long career in computer memory and semiconductor design, beginning with Bell Labs joining them through their evolutions to AT&T and Lucent. With an incredible work ethic and devotion to detail, his thinking has contributed to many unique patents in the field.

Duane has lived a long life of service, contributing to many in the community – as a leader in Indian Guides, Cub Scouts (Pack 55) and Boy Scouts (Troop 50). He was a lay reader and active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church for many years. He also really enjoyed teaching later in his career – teaching both Physics and many math courses for Northampton Area Community College.

Duane was very devoted to his wife, Michele Lee (nee Nattress) nursing her at home for many years through Alzheimer's. Michele predeceased him last November. Duane leaves behind 3 children - Danielle Pham (married to Phung Pham), Steven Aadsen (married to Alyssa Aadsen (nee Becker), and Kevin Aadsen, and 4 grandchildren – Bladen and Jaxsyn Aadsen (sons of Kevin) and Parker and Chloe Pham (children of Danielle). He also leaves behind four siblings – Marilyn Mahowald, Ronald Aadsen (married to Lori), Neil Aadsen (married to Tammy) and Linda Murray (married to Dave), as well as many nieces and nephews.

Joint services for Duane and Michele will be held on Saturday, 10th July 2021 at Schmidt Funeral Home Belvidere St., Nazareth, PA 18064. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 12 noon -1pm with services to follow at 1pm. There will also be burial services for Duane at his family's cemetery, on Saturday, 17th July at Scarville Synod Lutheran Cemetery, Iowa.
