In 1968, while camping in Indiana, she met Thomas Frushour. They married in 1969 and had two children, Amy (1971) and Kevin (1974). They divorced in 1984 but remained friends until her death.
In 1985 at a Mensa convention she met Michael Wattam, whom she married in 1986. They moved to the Pittsburgh area where she lived for the rest of her life working as a freelance copy editor and writer. Her last last 30 years mostly in Bellevue PA, with her final few years in Delmont, PA.
