Enlisted, April 2, 1889, as a founding member of Troop A, NYNY, at the Dickel's Riding Academy, 130 West 56th Street, NYNY.

April 29, 1889, escorted President Harrison from City Hall to Vice President Morton house on 5th Avenue.
October 30, 1889, the Troop escorted General Sherman from the house of Mayor Chapin to the grandstand for the laying of the cornerstone of the Soldiers' and Sailors' Arch, at Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY.

He was discharged from Troop A, January 29, 1890.
