Marilyn attended high school in Concordia, Kansas, and graduated with the CHS Class of 1955. She married Norman Giroux and later moved to Salina, Kansas, where she became employed in the food service department of St. John's Hospital, a job that she remained with for many years.
In addition to raising her family of two sons and three daughters, Marilyn's pleasures in life were sewing, working crossword puzzles, flowers, dogs and bird watching. She was also a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and loved watching them play football.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Norman Giroux, her brothers Franklin Huber, Walter Huber, Jimmie Huber, her sisters Vera (Huber) Lewis and Lorna May Huber who died in infancy. She is survived by her children Kevin Giroux and wife Diane of Fordland, Missouri, Kim Boyer of Pittsburg, Kansas, Kari Giroux of Lawrence, Kansas, Kenny Appleby and wife Mary of Petal, Mississippi. Kipra Streit and husband Jeff of Salina, Kansas, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, sister Arvilla Hansen of Colorado and brother Robert (Bob) Huber and wife Pamela of Concordia.
Marilyn passed away October 8, 2021, at Neuvant House in Lawrence, Kansas. She requested that there be no funeral or memorial services and that in lieu of flowers, donations in her name be made to the Lawrence Humane Society.
