Pharmacist. Born in Everett, Washington and raised in the Seattle neighborhood of Madison Park by parents of Irish-Catholic descent, Edward graduated from Seattle Prep School and attended the University of Washington School of Pharmacy. He worked as a pharmacist at Pay n' Save (later Payless before becoming Rite Aid) for the majority of his career. Married accountant, Karen Cornell (of Jewish descent) on September 7, 1957. Edward & Karen had six children: Patrick, Peter, Chris, Suzanne, Kathleen & Margaret. They remained married until their divorce on January 8, 1979. He is the father of Soundgarden/Temple of the Dog/Audioslave singer-songwriter/co-founder, Chris Cornell and singer Peter Cornell. Died at age 85 from multiple sclerosis (MS) after a long time battling the disease.
