David Lora Adams passed away Friday, January 14, 2022, at Phelps Health in Rolla, Missouri, after battling complications from cancer and COVID-19. He was 75 years of age.

David was born in Phelps County on the 23rd of February, 1946, the only son of Lora and Fledia (Chilton) Adams.

He was united in marriage on February 3rd, 1967 to Janet Klein.

He is survived by his wife, Janet of the home, daughter, Keturah, and husband Jim Kaufmann, of St. James, Missouri, son, Glen and wife Kendra Adams, of Littleton, Colorado, and grandchildren, Kyla Adams, Karis Adams, Brennon Kaufmann, Sage Kaufmann, and Ken and wife Brittany Kaufmann, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

David had a fulfilling life. He helped his dad build garages and houses in and around St. James, served as a cook in the Army Reserves, was a meat cutter at IGA in St. James and Kroger in Rolla, Missouri. He was a self-proclaimed junk dealer, a semi-professional yard-saler, and purveyor of antiques.

David and his wife, Janet, operated Shade Tree Arts in St. James From 1979 until retirement in 2012. He served on the Asher Cemetery board from 2006 until his passing.

David Adams will be in state on Friday, January 21, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022, at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James. Pallbearers will be Glen Adams, Jim Kaufmann, Sage Kaufmann, Carl Adams, Clark Harrison, and Dennis Hartley.

Interment will be at the Asher Cemetery in St. James, Missouri.

Memorials may be made to Asher Cemetery. Cards are available at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.
