Pete DelGiorno, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Joan DelGiorno, his parents, Mary (Trotto) and Gordon DelGiorno, and his son-in-law, John Diamanty. He is survived by his three children, Kathy, PeterPaul Jr., and Jody, two loving grandchildren, Thomas and Peter Diamantym and three brothers, Chris, Greg and Gordon Del Giorno. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Kathy Fenner, and his brother-in-law Richard Fenner of Irvine, California, and their son Rich of London, England.

Pete was a graduate of Brown Vocational High School, starting his career as a life-long carpenter, and a member of Carpenter Union Local 626. He worked for John E. Healy & Sons as a project manager for 44 years. He was a long-time member of Prince of Piedmont Lodge, and a life-long parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church. Pete was proud of his Italian heritage and community, and resided at his home on Bancroft Parkway for 60 years.

Pete found the greatest pleasures in the simplest things in life. Playing golf with his friends, watching football on Sundays, and cooking an Italian meal with his wife. Pete and Joan purchased property and built their own home in Rehoboth Beach, where they enjoyed several years of family fun. In addition to their travels to the Delaware Beaches, Pete and Joan took many trips throughout the United States and Europe.

He found the most pride in being a supportive father and grandfather.

A celebration mass will be held on Monday, January 31st at noon at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th and DuPont St Wilmington, DE 19805. Calling hours for Pete will be at 11am at the church.
