Dennis Michael "Trey" Berry III entered into eternal rest and peace on September 10, 2021, at the age of 22.

He was born on January 26, 1999, in San Antonio, Texas. Dennis grew up in San Antonio, Texas, with his younger sister and brother; as a child he laughed often and easily and was inquisitive about the world around him. This curiosity, especially about nature, led him to attend the Science and Engineering Academy at John Jay High School, where he graduated in 2017. During his time there, he enjoyed participating in football and environmental science.

Another love that Dennis developed early was music. He was thrilled when he was able to start violin lessons in elementary school and then moved to the trumpet in middle school. From there, he taught himself how to play the ukulele and guitar.

From San Antonio, Dennis went to Texas A&M University in Kingsville. Dennis went to Kingsville to play football for the Javelinas, but his focus was pursuing a degree in Range and Wildlife Management. He was preparing to receive a bachelor's degree on December 10, 2021. Dennis loved the outdoors, and while in Kingsville, he took advantage of the opportunities. Any extra time he could find, he went fishing and hunting; he would fish in ponds at parks, rivers, or the bay. He regularly sent pictures of his catches - big or small - to family and friends. He had recently begun doing field work related to his degree. He loved working for the conservation of wildlife and lands in SouthTexas. He found peace and comfort being in nature.

While in Kingsville, Dennis also explored his faith and his relationship with God. He actively prayed, studied, and shared his faith with others, touching many lives with his love for Our Lord.

He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. Dennis is survived by his parents, his sister and his brother; his grandfather, and grandmother, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Dennis R. Gouge and grandmother Dolores Berry.

Dennis is gone too soon, but he will always be remembered as a big man with an even bigger heart who loved Our Lord, his family, and his friends. With heavy hearts, we commend his spirit. Watch over us as you always did in life, and we long for the day we can see you again.
