Bud Ables joined his heavenly Father on 8/27/2020. Bud was born in Floresville, TX on October 24,1930 to Horace T. and Beulah Reed Ables.

Bud retired as a pipefitter/welder in Local 211. He moved to Concan, TX where he and his wife Doris Post Ables purchased some of Gods most beautiful acreage on the Frio River. He cleared the land and built a RV Park called Shady Rivers. They ran it until 1984 when health issues forced him to retire. It was a hard decision, as it was a yearly reunion of campers, now close friends. He was a long time Master Mason in Texas.

Bud married Patsy Christa-Ables 26 years ago. They loved to travel in their motor home. The visited 49 states, enjoying all sites, new or historical. Alaska was their favorite, visiting three times. After RVing wasn't a good idea anymore, they entered the cruising set. He spent his last years gardening, keeping his flowers & lawn manicured. He also was a first class Handy-Man. Fix or repair most anything and was happiest when family or friends needed him. He even learned the glass business in his late sixties to help out when he could. Bud was a loving husband, amazing father, step-father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Christa-Ables, daughters and son-in-law's, Cheryl (K. Doug) Hackradt of Conroe TX; Beverly Hermann of Houston; Two Step children Kenny (Joannie) Christa and Sharon (Eddie Jr) Lynch of San Antonio. Two grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Wayside Chapel, located at 1705 NW Loop 410, San Antonio, Monday September 14th at 1:00.
