Ross J. Rhea of Albany died Wednesday October 6, 2004. The funeral service will be Monday 11AM at Kimbrell-Stern with Rev. Ken Chancellor officiating. Interment to be held later at Highland Memory Gardens in Mt. Washington KY. Mr. Rhea a native of Louisville KY has lived in Albany for the past 24 years. He served in the United States Navy as an ordinance mate upon the USS Hornet After serving his military duty; he worked for Brown and Williamson for 21 years in Louisville KY and then relocated to Albany as a mechanic at Miller Brewing for 23 years. His hobbies included woodworking and playing golf at Radium Country Club where he was a member. He was a 20 year member of Lakeside Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher and worked in the Children's Church and he was preceded in death by his parents Ross and Cumiler Rhea, a sister and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Bettie L. Rhea of Albany, 4 sons; Robert C. Rhea (Susan) of Germany, Gary W. Rhea (Terina) of Brandenburg, KY, Larry W. Alvey (Charlene) of Leesburg, and Danny A. Alvey (Sandi) , 5 grandchildren; Gary Rhea Jr., and Megan A. Rhea of Brandenburg KY, Kerrie Alvey Miller (Jason), and Joshua W. Alvey of Leesburg and Aaron D. Alvey of Albany, 2 great-grandchildren Zackery Miller and Georgia Miller, 4 brothers; Bill Rhea, Budd Rhea and Joel Rhea of Louisville KY and Glenn Rhea of Lexington KY, 2 sisters Linda Rhea Denham of Fairdale KY, and Chris Rhea Wilson of Louisville KY.
