Christopher Andrew Biel, age 20 of Chesterton, Indiana, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021. He was born on May 14, 2001 in Chicago, Illinois, to Thomas and Claudia (Zöcklein) Biel.
Christopher is survived by his parents; brothers, Thomas Biel, Jr. and Nicholas Biel; sister, Melissa Biel; paternal grandmother, Carolann (Chovanec) Biel; aunts, Marlene Zöcklein, Gabi (Frank Krüger) Zöcklein, Amy Biel and Jill (Luke) Sandri; cousins, Marit Zöcklein and Jakob Zöcklein; and numerous second cousins, great uncles, and great aunts, both in the United States and Germany.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Andreas and Heidi (Dütsch) Zöcklein, and his paternal grandfather, Thomas Biel.
Christopher attended SELF school, and loved watching his siblings play soccer. He had an extended family of teachers, aides, paras, bus drivers, caregivers, administrators, case managers, therapists, nurses, doctors, and very close family friends who loved him dearly and helped make his twenty years with us remarkable. Christopher had a habit of reaching in, grabbing your heart, and not letting go. He gave the best big hugs.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Indiana 46304. Mass of Christian Burial for Christopher will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Ann of the Dunes Catholic Church, 433 Golf Wood Rd, Beverly Shores, Indiana, 46301.
