John Matthew Stevens, age 50, of Peshtigo, WI passed away Saturday April 8, 2023 at Froedtert South Hospital of Milwaukee, WI. He was born Jan. 10th 1973 to the late Robert and Marilyn Ann (Ostafin) Stevens.

He graduated Marinette High School on June 10th 1990.
In his earlier years he was employed at Waupaca Foundry, Marinette. John was a huge sports fan. His favorite team was the New Orleans Saints as well as all the Wisconsin teams.
Despite his struggles through life, John's heart always remained kind. He never lost his "go with the flow" attitude. The last year was a true test to his demeanor. He never complained or saw himself as a victim.

John is survived by a sister Kimberly (Michael) Palmquist;
and a brother Kenneth Stevens;
Nieces and nephews: Breanna and Kasey Palmquist and Joshua Stevens;
His Aunt Nancy, who always made his days brighter by visiting, calling, and providing him with all his favorite goodies during the good times and bad.
His Uncle Jerry and Aunt Pam.
His long-time best friend Samantha (Sam) Zick, who was always there for him. Her support and love will never be forgotten.
He also enjoyed the company of his cats, Little Bob and Buddy.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Marilyn Stevens who John took care of for years.

Graveside services will take place at the Riverside Cemetery, Peshtigo, April 26th at 11 AM. In honor of John please wear your favorite sports apparel.

John's family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Aurora Bay Area Medical Center, Froedtert South, and the Bay at Sheridan. Also, to Shawn Loch and Candace Breault, Marinette County Health and Human Services, who went above and beyond to assure John's well being. Shawn never gave up on the hopes we could get John back to his hometown and eventually to his home.

Heaven gained another Angel.
