Age 67, Of Battle Creek. Marie died Sunday, September 4, 2005, at her home surrounded by her family, friends and pets after a courageous, long-time battle with cancer. She was born Marie Rose Cloutier, the daughter of Roland and Muriel (Fontaine) Cloutier in Biddeford, Maine. She worked many years for Transamerica Insurance then the Federal Center from which she retired. As all who knew her knew, she was a champion for animals. She worked right up to the end rescuing homeless cats from starvation and helping to find homes for them. She is survived by her sons, Brent Belote of Detroit, Michigan and Bryan Belote of Oak Park, Michigan. She also leaves behind her sister, Pauline (Ernie) Melancon of Ocala, Florida. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial to celebrate her life will be announced in the near future. A memorial donation may be made to either Good Samaritan Hospice or Concerned for Critters. Her sons would like to thank the family and friends for all their support and love.
