John H. Radley Dies, Aged 74

Surviving his wife by less than a month, John H. Radley, 74, of 180 Duffy street, died in his sleep about 5 this morning at his home of coronary heart disease. He had been ill since Jan. 8.

His wife, Mrs. Clara J. Radley, died at the Duffy street home Christmas night. She was 68 years old.

The body was removed to the Northam & Fox Funeral home and later was taken to East Syracuse [sic; North Syracuse] for funeral services and burial.

Mr. Radley had been a carpenter and farmer by occupation. He was born Sept. 29, 1867 [sic; 1866?], at Clay [sic; Cicero?]. For years he resided in North Syracuse. His first wife died about 1926 [sic; 1928].

He married Mrs. Clara J. Roberts LaPatra, city, widow of Jerry LaPatra, Oct. 3, 1930 at North Syracuse. Mr. and Mrs. Radley lived at East Syracuse until coming to Watertown about three years ago.

Surviving Mr. Radley are two children, Mrs. Elva Parish and Melvin E. Radley, East Syracuse and two step-children, Lewis E. LaPatra, and Mrs. Lee G. (Helen D.) Clark, city.

John H. Radley

The funeral of John H. Radley, 75, who died Friday at his home in Watertown, will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Claude Parish of North Syracuse, by the Rev. D. W. Baylis of Andrews Memorial Church. Burial will be at North Syracuse. A retired carpenter, Mr. Radley was a native of Cicero, where he lived until five years ago. He was a member and past master of the Past [sic; Taft] Settlement Grange. He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Parish; a son, Melvin Radley of Syracuse; a brother, Norman Radley, and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Sanders of Syracuse and Mrs. Charles Brown of Baldwinsville. Bearers at the funeral will be: Charles Milback, George and Leonard Ott, Leander Stevenson, Ivan Parry and Edward Powell.
