Dean Alan Chaney, 56, of Peshtigo, WI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at his home. He was born in Menominee, MI. to Darla (Heroux) Chaney and the late Donald Chaney on September 9, 1966.


He graduated from Stephenson MI High School in 1985 and then proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Dean was happily employed at the L.E. Jones Company in Menominee, MI at the time of his death. He was the proud uncle of so many wonderful nieces and nephews who he enjoyed spending time with.

Although he rooted for the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers his passion in sports teams was the University of Michigan Wolverines. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and was always there to lend his time to anyone in need.


Dean is survived by his mother Darla Chaney of Peshtigo, WI;

a son Tyler (Sarina) of Coleman, WI;

his brothers: Denis (Connie) Chaney of Kemah, TX and DJ (Lisa) Chaney of Peshtigo, WI;

a sister Dede (Tim) Kramer of Suamico, WI;

grandchildren, Sophia and Waylon Chaney;

nieces and nephews: Elizabeth (Chris) Newbury, Danielle (Dennis) Baacke, Max Chaney, Rachel Chaney, Alyssa Anderson, Adam Anderson, and Evan Kramer.


In addition to his father Donald, Dean was proceeded in death by his son Dillon Chaney;

his maternal grandparents John and Cecil Heroux;

and his paternal grandparents Chester and Irma Chaney.


Visitation will be held at Berth & Rosenthal Funeral Home of Peshtigo, Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 12:00 until time of service at 3:00 pm. Burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo with military honors.
