Esther Margaret Hofmann Wright, 92, of San Antonio passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023 spending her final days surrounded by her children and other family members. She was born March 10, 1931 in San Antonio, Texas to George Harold Hofmann and Esther Margaret (Popp) Hofmann, who preceded her in death.

Also preceding Esther in death were her husband, 1st LT Burl Merrick Wright, USMC; eldest son, Dennis Gerard Wright; her brother, George Harold Hofmann, Jr.; and sisters, Claire Virginia Aselin, Anna (Nancy) Matilda Osborn, and Marilyn Joyce Fowlkes.

Esther's life was a testament to service: as a loving family role model, a dedicated community volunteer at the Majestic Theater and San Antonio Police Department, a compassionate Public Health Registered Nurse, and a devoted spouse to a career Marine.

She is survived by her daughter; sons; a sister; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
