Obituary:

Clem, as he is called, was born 5 June 1924 to the beloved mother Mary Emma Red in Russell County Alabama where he attended elementary school. He was reared by his mother and step- father, Jessy Abrams in Opelika, Lee County, AL. Clem was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ocie "Bo" Williams.

Clem lived in Chattanooga for more than 67 years. During this time, he supported little league baseball throughout the city, enjoyed fishing, bowling and watching the Atlanta Braves baseball games and other sports. His greatest and fondest hobby was being an entrepreneur of a candy store he operated from his kitchen for over 45 years. He got much joy out of teaching the children how to count money and watching them grow into young adults. Clem retired from the Erlinburg Company, a jewelry maker, after working many years in the stone setting department.

Clem leaves behind his immediate family: wife, Betty L. Hickey Abrams and son Donnell Abrams in Chattanooga, TN; daughter Barbara "Dean" Abrams Mitchell, Opelika, AL; son Billy (Carolyn) Abrams, Auburn, AL and step-daughter, Mary "Jeannette" Tyner, Chattanooga, TN; Brother-in-Law - Edward "Glenn" (Betty) Hickey, Sr., Atlanta, GA; Sister-in-Law - Eleanor Williams, Loachapoka, AL; Two (2) aunts – Lillian Brooks and Evelyn Torrey of Chattanooga, TN.
