John Dolcich was a sergeant in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the 376th heavy bomb group out of northern Africa and Italy. Following the war he earned his Master's in Education from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. For 30 years he was a teacher in the Montgomery County Maryland Public School System, working at Leland Jr. High School and then Paint Branch Senior High School. He taught mathematics, geography and sociology, coached track, and enjoyed making seasonally appropriate colored chalk board drawings.
He was a Benedictine Oblate at St. Anselm's abbey in Washington DC and parishioner at St. Anthony's in Brookland.
Survivors include his wife, four children, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
