Raymond R. Matzinger, age 83, of Swanton, passed away January 20, 2003, at St. Luke's Hospital. Ray was a custodian for Swanton High School and Crestwood School for 19 years before he retired in 1989. Prior to that he worked for many years at Rupp Hatchery. Ray was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Farm Bureau.
Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Ellen; daughter, Susan (Tom) Ritter of Swanton and son, Steven Matzinger of Ft. Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Jennifer (Todd) Taft and Theresa Ritter both of Swanton and Melissa Warncke and Jamie Matzinger both of Ft. Wayne.
Friends may call at the Biehl-Malone Funeral Home Swanton from 3-8 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2003, where funeral services will be held Thursday, January 23, 2003, at 12 p.m. Rev. Maurice Bailey officiating. Interment Sharples Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be to either church, Swanton Rescue Squad or the Swanton Fire Department
