Albert "Al" Harris, Jr. of Caro, age 65, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, November 27, 2023. Albert was born July 27, 1958 in Flint, the son of the late Albert, Sr. and Anna (Kowalski) Harris. Albert began working for the State of Michigan in 1979, eventually transferring to the Caro Center in 1989. He retired on January 31, 2018, after nearly forty years of dedicated service as a resident care aide for the facility. On October 3, 1997, Albert married the former Betty Yax at the courthouse in Caro and the couple cherished over twenty-six years of marriage. Albert's life was a melody composed of his love for music, a fervor for baseball, and the tranquility found in gardening. His collections of baseball cards were a testament to his love of the sport, and the flowers adorning his yard were evidence of his green thumb. When he wasn't watching baseball or gardening, Albert entertained himself with video games such as Bejeweled Blitz and Farmville. Above all, Albert's greatest joy came from time spent with his family. Whether it was taking long drives through the country or singing karaoke together, his love for his family shown bright and he will be missed for years to come.

Left to cherish Albert's memory are wife, Betty Harris of Caro; four children, Jackie Harris of Millington, Amy Barrons and her husband, Chris, Ryan Harris, and Jayla Hypes, all of Caro; four siblings and their spouses, Alberta & Fred Hess of Caro, Rosetta & Jim Abbott of Birch Run, Sharon Case of Tennessee, twin brother, Delbert & Pam Harris of Reese; and too many nieces, nephews, and cousins to count. In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald, Frank, David, and Donald Harris.

I've been putting off writing anything major, but with 6 months coming up I figured I could get something out

This is my dad, he was an amazing, hilarious, giving, caring man who was always there to help when needed, but not without a few sarcastic comments and digs. He'd give the shirt off his back for his friends and family and loved spending time with his loved ones. He got me into cemeteries when I was a young teenager and from then on was my graveyard buddy. We'd make days of driving out to cemeteries in the Thumb of Michigan and surrounding areas; singing to whatever came on the radio with the windows down, just enjoying life and spending time together. We were also Chinese food buddies (don't worry dad, I'm still taking you to "Panda House", just in a different way) and he loved trying new strange foods on the menu. I watched him try octopus once, that was an experience.

I collected all things cows in high school and even though I've long grown out of my collection, dad would still buy any cow related thing he saw and send me cow memes on Facebook to make me laugh. He was always thinking of ways to make people laugh.

I'll miss you forever dad, I love you

Special Thanks to SSBJ for sponsoring my dad's memorial! I greatly appreciate you!
