Eveline Hilka Christena Kaiser was born to Fred W. and Kathrena (Nordbrock) Torbeck September 21, 1912 on a farm south of Johnson.

She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's (Stone) Church and attended school in Nemaha County.

She was employed in Auburn for seven years and in 1943 went to Hollywood, California, where she applied for work and stayed until 1945 when her mother died.

Eveline returned to Nebraska to take care of her father and married William C. Kaiser at the Stone Church January 29, 1953. They purchased a farm near Agra, Kansas where they lived until they moved to Agra. She was a member of the church in Agra and also several ladies afternoon groups of the church and Sunshine clubs.

Kaiser entered Phelps County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg, Kansas in November 1998.

After fracturing a hip in July of this year, she was transferred to Denver, Colorado for extended surgery and spent the last seven weeks near her son and family at Elms Retirement Center, Thornton, Colorado, where she died September 14, 1999.

Preceded in death by her parents, surviving are her husband, William of Phelps County Retirement Center, son, Mark and wife Delores; two grandsons, all of Thornton, Colorado; sisters, Ora Eltiste, Johnson, Alice Rippe, Auburn, Opal Eltiste, Tecumseh; Aunt Martha Torbeck, Lincoln, other relatives and many friends.

Services were held at Cliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel in Phillipsburg September 18 conducted by Reverend Jerry Kaiser of Inman, Kansas.

Van Bradley was soloist, accompanied by JoAnn Rust.

Interment was in the Agra Cemetery at Agra, Kansas.
