James M. Jones dies following short illness. James M. Jones, 58, farmer of Route Two, Dodson, succumbed Friday, August 26,1948, following a heart attack and stroke which he suffered the previous day while changing a tire. Funeral services were conducted August 27 at the Cypress Creek Church with the Rev. John Kitchingham of Columbia and Rev. Waynon Mott officiating. Burial was under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alma Jones; three daughters, Mrs. Eddie Chandler, Calvin; Mrs. Evelyn Green, Jonesboro; Mrs. Theo Boyette, Texas City; four brothers, Wiley, D. D., and Austin Jones of Route 2, Dodson, and L. O. Jones, Montgomery; his mother, Mrs. Martha Jones, Route 2, Dodson; one sister, Mrs.G. C. Temple, Route 2, Dodson; and nine grandchildren.
